In the spirt of good sexual health here is where I pay it forward. It is important to stay on top of your STD testing. That does not just mean once every few years or figuring you must be okay because you have no symptoms. Stay on top of it folks! Good sexual health is important to staying healthy and having more fun safely.
That being said, there are many folks both in the biz and out who simply aren't testing. There are big spikes in Chlamydia and Gonorrhea infections as well as Hepatitis. This is partially because of the Heroin epidemic. It is also due to the saturation of people not practicing safer sex and using harm reduction techniques and the advent of hook up culture with the changes in technology. People aren't being safe, aren't testing, and being proactive you are in charge of your own sexual well being.
There is increased pressure on providers to provide unsafe services and many are offered more money and other incentives to comply. Some ladies are desperately needing money or wanting to please and risking their health and yours. Please play safe, and be well.
Today is Walk-in Wednesday from 2-6pm at Frannie Peabody Center(30 Danforth St Ste 311 Portland, ME) Free Hiv & Hep C testing with results in 20 minutes. Plus a Dunkies gift card just for getting tested. I mean how can you go wrong??? All testing is anonymous and testing appointments can be scheduled privately by appointment as well. They are a wonderful and compassionate group of people.
For other testing in Greater Portland Planned Parenthood 443 Congress Street 2nd floor in Portland is also a great place to go. Midcoast ( Planned Parenthood 4 Bowdoin Mill Is, Cleveland House Ste 101Topsham)isn't just for women. Men also are free to go and get the peace of mind they seek by getting full panel STD testing privately in a kind and caring setting. These are places that are not going to judge you. They are simply there to help.
I've personally seen several providers as well as personal friends deal with STD issues due to lack of testing and not using proper protection. I never judged these people because of what happened to them. I feel encouraging proper treatment and safer sex methods is better. Everyone does things. If they choose to continue to play unsafely that is ultimately their choice. You can't teach a pig to sing. You'll only frustrate yourself and aggravate the pig.
Be safe, be well and go forth to play again another day.
