Spring is in the air despite some quirky typical Maine weather. The natives are restless, the little creatures around my place are starting to come back and all is in order. I find that in sort of following with the natural order of things I need to take time to do a little bit of seasonal cleaning of my own. Physical housekeeping is important, however so is business housekeeping and personal and spiritual housekeeping.
With each season we must let go of the negatives and that which holds us back, stifles our growth or no longer serves a greater purpose. I want to embrace the positive and continue to grow and evolve into the best possible version of my self. I want to live my best life.
I've grown rich in intangible things such as love, independence, humility, happiness, confidence, peace, and compassion. Those can never be taken from me and they are priceless.
Money is a somewhat necessary evil in life but it is entirely secondary to my happiness. The older I get the more comfortable I am living simply. I'm happy to just enjoy reading a book, hiking trails with my dog, cooking a meal or relaxing with friends.
These are the things that matter the most. The best gift you can give a person is your undivided time and attention. It shows that you care even for that hour.
