Life after the anti-porn anti-sex legal fallout

April 6, 2018

Well here we all are in some sort of strange world where conservative anti-porn anti-sex legislation and net-neutrality has seemingly taken over common sense and free speech. The real ramifications of this situation is that now any person can easily be accused of sex trafficking another person without hard evidence simply by providing simple assistance to another without even knowing that persons situation. You can also have everything seized without even going before a judge if they really want to. New strict laws by conservatives are waging war against those who actively fight for sexual rights, empowerment, privacy, freedom, and the ability to yes commercialize sex for entertainment, healing, and pleasure.

Regardless of where you stand on the issue it will somehow impact each one of us personally in some way. Whether it is the removal of a magazine from an easily accessible area, not being able to access the porn we want, to simple every day freedoms we have yet to consider. There is really a much bigger picture here. The government has effectively walked into your bedroom and home and told you what is okay and not okay for good folks to do and not do in their own homes and private places. I believe it should be up to you to make those decisions so long as you are not harming yourself or anyone else.

Clients of escorts and massage ladies will notice ad malls disappearing along with many of their favorite ladies/gents/ trans workers as the Fosta/Sesta anti-sex trafficking bill continues to dismantle all of their usual haunts. Many marginalized workers will be forced into dire situations with no place to advertise safely. Being able to advertise on the internet gave them a safe way to vet clients and keep safety lists etc. This breaks my heart in a lot of ways. These places helped workers communicate with one another so that they could avoid dangerous situations and bad clients. Those same folks are already trying to figure out how to take advantage of this situation I'm sure.

Some workers will inevitably leave the industry, migrate to other areas of the industry or slide entirely under the radar altogether. I wish them all the best regardless of what they do. Please be considerate if you are requesting a persons time. The risks for them are much higher and it is no longer a buyers market.

Provide them with whatever they are asking for to make them comfortable or keep it moving. Nobody has to see anyone and nobody is required or obligated to provide any particular services. Be kind and remember we are all in this together.
